does lumens / square foot = foot - candles ?
trying to review some notes here.
is this right?
if i end up with a value of 33.4 lumens / sf this is the same as 33.4 Fc?

To answer your question, yes. However, I recommend checking out Norbert Lechner's Heating, Cooling, & Lighting. He explains this in Chapter 12. Elsewhere in his book he also explains the cosine law, or how to calculate the quantity of light hitting a surface for a given angle of incidence. Once you read and understand it, everything on illuminance should be clear. (FYI, I recommend skipping MEEB for lighting - it goes much deeper into it than the scope of the exam.)
