PA Pass- First Try

Hi All,

I passed PA on my first attempt last weekend. My primary study materials were:

Black Spectacles Practice Exams, Flashcards, Videos
Site Planning and Design Handbook, CH 1,2,3,4 & 7,8,9
Ballast- all PA Chapters & Chapters 12 – 13
ADA 2010 Standards
YouTube Videos

I think having dealt with a lot of site planning/zoning during work helped out a bit. Knowing the major parts of preliminary site design is absolutely critical. Be familiar with survey types, remediation methods, soil boring, sun paths, drainage and designs for different climates.

How long did it take you to receive your results? Are you referring to last weekend as in yesterday or a week ago?

Jacquelyn,

I took the exam March 6th, I received a preliminary pass at the end of the exam. I then received my official score report the very next day, March 7th.

Here is a link to my YouTube playlist. This was my fourth exam that I have passed so a handful of the videos are for CE/PJM/PCM. The playlist is sorted by date added newest so pretty much everything after the PA introduction is for the PA exam. Good Luck!

Mariangeles,

I studied every day for about 5 weeks leading up to the exam. I eased into it about 7 or 8 weeks out.

Obviously, this is different for everyone. I usually study about 1-2 hours on weekdays then up it to 3-6 hours on the weekends.
