Who is responsible to get Certificate of Occupancy

Hi commnuity,

I want to ask who is responsible to get Certificate of Occupancy?

Should be Owner  or  Contractor ?  Since GC build the building but eventually it is Owner to move in, so who is take charge for that?

Also who is pay for that if some fee is required?

  Hi Zehua,

  The owner is responsible for obtaining the certificate of occupancy from the AHJ, as the owner is the one who will ultimately be occupying and using the building.  Since the owner will have to get the certificate of occupancy, they will also be the one to pay the fee.
