1005.7.1 doors (typical door restrictions)
door restrictions are that a out’s ring door into a corridor has to leave 1/2 required width at the most open point on the door from what i can gather.
the illustration shows a fully open door with an additional notation that the handle cannot protrude more than 7” off the wall.
then there is a comment in the commentary that shows an illustration of the same corridor but with an alcove for a door and states “minimum width is equal to the required width minus 7” and 1/2 required width”.
and the illustration shows a door open at 90
degrees.
i’ve seen this like three different ways and don’t understand what they are requiring. anyone know?
also, other than 1/2 required width clear for the outswing of a door i guess this is it for what i need to know about doors in hallways? excepting that door to door sequence stuff where they are in a row?
