Architectural Handbook of Professional Practice (AHPP) is a very good resource for architectural practice, but it has over 1,000 pages, and can be overwhelming for people studying for the Architectural Registration Exams (ARE).  To solve this  problem, the publisher of AHPP, John Wiley & Sons, Inc., enlisted NarmourWright Design to set up a navigation document to help candidates studying for the ARE exams. Candidates for these exams can now just focus on reading the sections of the AHPP related to the division of the ARE exam they are taking.

Here is a link to the navigation documents for each division of the ARE exam: http://narmourwright.com/wp/index.php/wiley-publishing

Yes! Definitely do not read the entire book for this exam. I cover which chapters you should focus on in my YouTube video. Watch it here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=20RYUf7FmAE and don't forget to subscribe so you don't miss any future videos. I will be releasing a new video every week and the best part is, its all FREE!

Sections 4,5,9,10 and the last three+contracts a101 a201 and b101....usually the beginning of each section (first third) has a higher yield than the middle or end so you can skim after it gets repetitive

    Cody,

For this particular exam, the best AHPP guide is the one from Plural Sight. I only read the sections in red from the Plural Sight guide and was able to pass.

So for the other exams Wiley guide is better?

For the Practice Management and Project Management exams Plural Sight was the most straight forward. For Construction and Evaluation I used Wiley as a guide, but by that time I had already read most of the content so it wasn't 100% necessary. For all of the other exams, you don't need AHPP.

Okay. Thank you. Also, for the Wiley guide when it says “All” for the content, is it suggesting read the entire chapter or all of that page??

Can someone share a link to access the AHPP guide from Pluralsight? I can't seem to find it anywhere.

    Claudia,

    This is the link: https://drive.google.com/drive/u/1/folders/1ucB6OIrtmlQQAdFTV4jR06jq7dfC67Ak

It is a very high level look at the chapters and sections to focus on.

    All the best,
