Case Study Resource PDFs
I’ve been a PM for over 10 years. A lot of times I will use PDFs for reference. When that happens, I’ll usually have multiple PDFs open simultaneously and positioned on screen as needed to see for example Arch RCP and Elect. Lighting Plan side by side. This is impossible while taking the ARE. The PDF resources are loaded individually, which takes 30+ seconds to load each time, and each page of the PDFs. So just to compare two PDFs, you lose a minute of time staring at LOADING..... LOADING...... Then when you go to the next question, the previously LOADED PDFs are closed, so you have to RELOAD....LOADING each one every single time again. This is inexcusable, and in no way a fair test of competency as it relates to using reference material. Those that created these tests should be ashamed for not addressing this issue already, as it’s been mentioned in numerous posts. But I’m sure it’s just part of trying to limit the number of licensed architects as it’s always been. The tests are ridiculous enough as it is to focus on all questions properly in the given time. The resources should remain loaded once initially loaded and there should be an option to view multiple PDFS at the same time, and remain open between questions, as in the REAL WORLD.
I’m sure it’s pointless for me to state these concerns as nothing will be done to improve the testing. What’s another $235. Don’t spend it all in one place.
