Life Emergency and can't take my test,

    Eyad,

    I had something like this happen.  I tried to reschedule what I thought was 5 days before the exam, but it was only 4 because of the testing day not counting. 

    I called and they instructed me to email NCARB.  Which I did.  And they replied that day.

    In the end, I took the test because the emergency precautions I was taking turned out to not be necessary (okay, it was a COVID scare in my family).

    NCARB has always been helpful to me when I have reached out to them.

    EDIT:

    I took the exam because I was not at risk so the emergency turned out to be false.

    NCARB explained that I should let the exam appointment pass - at which time they would review my record - and if appropriate issue me an exam credit to reschedule with.

    I am sure they will explain all this to you in an email response to your customer service query in the coming day or two.

    Did you take it cause NCARB couldn't reschedule for you ? or you chose to take it ? 

    was NCARB okay with rescheduling for you ?

    Eyad, you can no show at the test, wait a couple of days, then reschedule.

    I email NCARB but no answer yet, i'm afraid they put me automatic fail or not giving me the seat credit if i don't show up .  :( . 

    but since i can't go to the test center, there is nothing really i can do except hoping they accommodate my situation

    Eyad, that won't happen, but if you want to wait for NCARB to reply, might I suggest you not hold your breath waiting for them.

    Eyad,

    Try calling them again.

    They are helpful people in an office building in Washington DC that answer the phone.

    They are likely going to tell you the same thing I originally said, but hopefully it will help.

    Previously I know they waved fees? I'm sure if you give them some time, the exam date may pass but I would think they would honor this once they get in touch.

     

    Note: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, NCARB has waived rescheduling fees for all exam appointments until December 31, 2020.  NCARB will reinstate rescheduling fees at a reduced rate starting January 1, 2021.

    Thank you all for replying. it's really kind of you . 

    They got back to me this morning, saying they'll have to wait for the exam time to pass. and then they will look into the case. they also mentioned in the mean time, to send them supporting documentation as for why I can't attend the exam. 

    Unfortunately , I don't have documentation , its a family matter and I won't be able to go on Monday. I don't know what supporting document I can give. 

    anyhow, as long as it is not a fail. I can live with paying again to reschedule :( in case the lack of supporting documentation is a deal breaker.

    Just closing on this, 

     

    NCARB were super helpful and understanding, 

    they gave me back the seat credit, and i will be rescheduling soon to take it .
