Boiler for Hot Water Heating System
I'm currently reading through Heating, Cooling, and Lighting and came across this diagram on pg. 535. I'm a bit confused why the hot water is going to the boiler. Are the arrows for hot water and pump supposed to be switched? (This image is a conceptual section of a boiler for a hot-water (hydronic) heating system)

Ashley,
By my assessment, the arrows are accurate. I can understand why the label "hot water" is a bit confusing. The pump circulates the water to the radiant floor (or whatever distribution system), and the heated water circulates and returns to the boiler. The diagram on the next page shows the entire system.
Great question and happy studying,
Liz
