I am just about to begin studying for ARE 5.0 after taking a 2 year break from the exams. Previously, I have taken both CDS and PPP multiple times and only managed to pass CDS at last (did not make the 4.0 to 5.0 transition deadline, if you know what I mean).
I have most of the studying materials from ARE 4.0, here is a list of them:
- Ballast (really old version)
- Architect Exam Prep (PPP and CDS)
- Gang Chen (PPP and CDS)
- AIA Contracts (2007 version)
- Architect's Handbook of Professional Practice
- Jenny's Notes
- Schiff Hardin's Lectures
I plan to begin with PCM and PJM and have printed out the the new AIA Contracts (2017). I am also thinking of getting the new Ballast set (will release this August) and maybe another set either from Hyperfine Architecture, The Amber Book, Designer's Hack, or Black Spectacles. Any suggestions or other recommendations?
FYI, I am really not a test taker and quite slow at understanding the materials in a complete sense. I really struggled when studying for the 4.0 and just completely lost confidence after failing so many times.
