Break 15 or 25
AnsweredFYI- Just gave PDD exam at 1 Penn Plaza, NYC. Waiting for my score.
I tried to confirm if NCARB's new break of 25 minutes was in effect or not. At Prometric, 2 people looked up the rules and said only 15 minutes was allowed.
During the exam when I took my break it was 25 minutes.

Hey Suchitra,
I can confirm that the break time is 25 minutes on all divisions of the ARE. This change was made to alleviate candidate concerns about the new extended check-in process. See page 2 of the ARE 5.0 Guidelines.

Yes, the break time is now 25 minutes. It has been suggested to time your break with a problem requiring some calculation... This way you can continue contemplating the question during your much needed bathroom break. These are long tests. You should utilize every minute of your break. Stretch, coffee, etc. Prometric allows you some time to get settled back in your chair before checking back in on the timer. There is however NO cellphone use or access to your locker during the break.
Could someone from NCARB please confirm if this is considered acceptable? Thanks!
