Where im getting a little confused is michael ermann states kitchen sinks cannot be considered grey water because it contains food waste, but all of my internet searches states kitchen water can be reused as grey water- which makes sense to me if its for irrigation? we use food waste for composting so why would this not be a viable source?

Just a guess: Maybe water from the kitchen sink would clog the pipes heading outside (ie, for irrigation, garden)? Especially if you have a kitchen sink disposal.
