    Hey Mary and Tony,

Thanks for posting about your exams. Unfortunately, currently scheduled exam appointments may be subject to cancellation if your local test center is not able to reopen as planned or if local mandates change. This is what occurred over the weekend. Prometric is notifying candidates of all impacted appointments. If your appointment is canceled by Prometric, NCARB will update your exam eligibility and provide you a seat credit so you can reschedule this appointment at a later date once the test center becomes available.

We really appreciate your ongoing patience and support.

Apparently a bunch of people had exams cancelled yesterday. Some were scheduled to test in July and some were scheduled to test next week...I don't think anyone knows what is going on...

    Hey Tony,

We know this is extremely frustrating and apologize for the canceled exams. NCARB received a list today from Prometric of candidates impacted by social distancing/test center closures in early August, and less than 2% of exams scheduled for August were impacted. I just checked your record, and you have been granted a seat credit and should be able to reschedule your exam. If you continue to have problems rescheduling, please let me know or you can reach out to NCARB Customer Service.

    Nick,

Thank you for the feedback, I will try to reschedule, currently my testing center is not allowing me to schedule any test. The calendar is blocked off for the next few months. I may look for a new testing center.

I am in Texas as well.   I have had my seat for P/A cancelled THREE TIMES now,  this latest time I was notified 8 days before my exam was scheduled.

I have also had the experience of my testing center mysteriously 'disappearing' when I try to reschedule.  It has only worked for me to wait a week or so and then I've gotten my exam credit back and can view my test center again.

I am seriously considering trying a different test center.

This has happened to one of my coworkers three times since March in Atlanta. I have been studying since early July for my exam August 31 and I cant help but think if it is all for nothing.  I am holding out some hope but it is minimal. If my exam gets cancelled I will be pausing my exam taking indefinitely until NCARB can adequately address this widespread issue. This is incredibly discouraging, especially for those of us who are very close to the end of their ARE journey.

Since this seems to be a recurring problem everywhere across the US, does NCARB plan to address this issue in the near term by adding more time to our rolling clocks?

    Allison and Jenna,

Unfortunately, a small number of testers continue to be impacted by the pandemic (less than 2%). Test center closures are determined by Prometric without the input of NCARB. We understand that this continues to impact candidates, so we will be adding an additional rolling clock extension (on top of the 9 months already granted) to all passed exams as of March 1st. This official announcement including extension length should be coming from NCARB in the next few weeks.

If you have the ability to test in a different Prometric test center, that could be viable solution at this point. Here is an updated list from Prometric of all test centers that are open and operating at full capacity - https://www.prometric.com/site-openings.

Good to know about the additional rolling clock, Nick!    Thanks for that update.

I know these cancelled seats are due to Prometric of course, not NCARB, but I wanted others to know that they are not alone if they're still having trouble.   :-)
