Evaporative Coolers vs Coolng Towers
Trying to study these topics but I'm getting confused. Are they the same thing?

No, evaporative coolers and cooling towers aren't the same, though both use evaporation. Evaporative coolers are self-contained units that are typically connected to duct work and have a pump that spreads water over cedar fiber panels and have a large fan that circulates air over the saturated panels through the ducts to registers into conditioned space. Cooling towers are part of the building shape/design and use principles of convection to have the cool air drop and push the hot air away.
