  • Correction, Prometric’s opening list now says my testing center in Brookfield, WI is supposed to open at FULL CAPACITY on June 1 which is the date of my cancelled exam.

Prometric states on their website: "Prometric worked with test sponsors to determine which programs met the criteria for "essential workforce," as defined by the US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), and were able to operate under enacted social distancing policies."

I understand that "essential" is a vague term but I'm having a hard time understanding why "International Gambling Counselor Certification Board" is considered essential while the ARE is not, especially when construction is considered an essential workforce in most (all?) covid impacted states. (For the full list of exams labeled "essential client programs" see this list: http://www.prometric.com/sites/default/files/Essential%20Client%20List.pdf)

Is NCARB lobbying on behalf of it's members to change our status to essential? From the statement above, it seems like it's the test sponsors (ie NCARB in this case) who determine their own essential status and relay that to Prometric, not the other way around.
