Ballast's online study subscription (instead of the physical book) - thoughts?
I'm aiming for my first ARE section (PA) in a few months and have started gathering materials, but since I'm currently working in the EU and am still moving around it's inconvenient to have to carry around a ton of physical books. Through my company I have a Black Spectacles subscription, and I'm buying some select essential books, but I also heard good things from here about Ballast's materials.
On their website, however, I also found a monthly subscription to an online platform per section, i.e. for PA:
https://ppi2pass.com/are5pa1mb.html
Which I find much more convenient than their full-fledged 1000 page physical study book. Cost-wise, too. But has anyone used this already, and can attest to its effectiveness (compared to the physical option)?

Hi Kin,
I don't have any experience with Ballast's monthly subscription, but I'd advise if you are just starting out, that you purchase the Ballast ARE Review Manual is you want to go the Ballast route. I used the manual as a way to introduce myself to the different ARE divisions and become acquainted with what I should focus on studying for each division. I thought the manual served as a great "book-end" to my study schedule - usually reading through the test section I was preparing for when I started studying, then revisiting the material again when I was reviewing (usually a week or so before sitting for my exam). It's a good book for focusing yourself in my opinion, but I needed more material to further grasp particular information. Purchasing the manual would also allow you to revisit information in divisions that you have passed which I think is critical since the information builds on itself as you progress through the exams.
Hope this helps and best of luck!
