Passed CE on 2nd try
I passed CE on Friday on my second try.
I passed PcM, PJM and failed CE once and this was my 2nd try.
This time I tried to focus more on basic materials:
- I read A201 line by line tried to understand every single phrase of it. This method truly helped me to be very confident answering contract related questions in the exam,
- AHPP specially chapter 10 was very important.
- ARE5.0 handbook
- construction details and code related questions really need your general knowledge about everything: ADA, clearances, code, occupancy, fire ratings, water proofing and foundations, excavations, egress, safety, ....
- the Most important thing for me in this exam comparing to the previous time I took CE was TIME Management, make sure you finish the first part in 90 minutes and leave the rest for case studies, case studies has so many documents that you really need to go through them to be able to find answers and they are not hard, they are just time consuming and if you don't have enough time, you will easily lose those questions, I know its very hard to finish the first 75 questions in 90 minutes, but I did it, even I left some extra long questions unanswered, but later came back and answered them. Last time I remember I wanted to answer some time consuming questions that I was sure I knew how to solve them, but this time I skipped those because they are traps and kill your time! and they are only 1 question. You can spend that time answering a few more instead.
I wish you all best of luck,
next one would be PA.

HI Yasmin,
Thanks for sharing your experience.
I want to start studying for this exam. I would definitely consider your hint about time management.
Do you have an estimate of how long it takes to get ready to take this exam? I am giving myself a 4 weeks preparation time.
Do you think if that enough?
Thanks,
