ICC A117.1-2017 or 2009

ICC 117.1 Accessible and Usable Buildings and Facilities was updated in 2017. I see that in the ARE 5.0 reference matrix it lists 2009, Is the exam now still using 2009?

Changes include wheelchair space increasing from 48” to 52”, and wheelchair turning radius increasing from 60” to 67”. 

Previously post in 2018 explained about using 2009 but that was a year back, I want to be sure. Appreciate ncarb member to clarify.

  Hey Peik,

  The ARE references the 2015 family of ICC codes which includes the 2009 version of the ICC 117.1. Stick with the references listed in the latest version of the ARE 5.0 Handbook.
