IPAL and ARE eligibility

I am considering dropping IPAL-- I've already passed one exam. If I drop IPAL will my exam still count? I understand that I won't be able to complete any more exams until I've accrued the AXP hours necessary and I've graduated-- and that the rolling clock will still apply. I'm just wondering if the exam pass will be discounted if I drop IPAL.
