Dimensions in ASC
Hi,
I am studying the ASC right now and it seems like there are a lot of sizing/dimensions tables.
For PPD, how much of those details do we need to know?
Thanks in advance!

Yi,
Take this as one person's opinion and experience only, but I personally skipped over ALL of those tables and sizing information in ASC, and that suited me just fine. I went into the exams however knowing what types of systems were good for long spanning vs. short spanning, and had an idea of what those span limitations were (e.g. a steel truss can span as much as X feet whereas light-gauge steel joists can only span Y feet). Same with HVAC - I didn't look at those tables that talk about sizing HVAC rooms and ducts. Too much to learn and not worth the effort in my opinion. This approach paid off for my exam, but you might want to see what other responses you get on here.
