I Noticed that PPD and PDD reference new books and also moved books around. What is the purpose of this? We need to know. We are in the middle of giving exams and also bought many books.

PDD - B Construction I and B Codes I and Min Des. Loads for bldg. is removed.

Building structures and FBC is added.

PPD - Building Structures is removed.

I am wondering if I have to buy the Building structures instead of already using Building Construction Illustrated.

Hey Suchitra,

Each time NCARB releases a new version of the ARE Handbook, we compile a new list of the top reference books used for each division based on the current makeup of our ARE item bank. Why does the top reference list change? We are constantly adding new items to our ARE item bank and retiring old items. The constant addition/subtraction of items also shifts the top reference books. Even though we updated the top references, the content being assessed within the divisions does not change.
