Fresh from CE exam
Ok, so I just got a preliminary pass on the CE exam.
The initial multiple choice questions were as per other posts, 70% of questions based contracts, 30% on construction detailing. I went through these with about 1hr 45 min left on the clock for case studies.
When I hit the case studies, they pretty much took the rest of the exam time.
The case studies on this exam included some really involved questions, there was a serious issue on the loading time for documents, sometime approx. 1-2min for a set of reference material. NCARB needs to address this issue in the Sydney testing centre as its a problem.
My exam was very light on ADA requirements.
Next exam is PJM next week.
Hopefully this helps everyone!

Hey Allison,
I just basically looked through some wall construction sections doing a general Google search focusing on flashing, weep holes, slab and footing details, curtain wall details, etc as a general refresher.
I have a lot of construction experience, so this was pretty straightforward for myself.
That being said, the question were pretty straightforward.
Hopefully that helps. -
Hello Andrew,
Congratulations!
Would you recommend someone with little construction documents experience to study for CE using this source? https://hammerandhand.com/best-practices/manual/
What chapters of CSI Manual of Practice did you read? Is there a list of chapters to study like the Wiley's List for AHPP?

Hi Luliia,
I would look at some typical wall section details from various sources, including some that show brick wall detailing, foundation wall details, etc. I don't believe I used CSI manual of practice in my studies.
A good read through the forum comments should provide you with a good overview of exam study content.
