    Congratulations on you passing!!!

I am taking CE in one week but I don't feel confident of what I know with respect to waterproofing detailing and building envelopes in general. Did go through all the chapters on Hammer and Hand or only chapter 5?

    Thank you,

    Kenia-

    Kenia,

I read all of it. It isn't very long and it's full of good info on the things you mentioned struggling with. Just go through it slowly and it should really help. Pay attention to weep holes and flashing.

    Good Luck!

Great job Audrey! Thank you for your post!

I appreciate the simplified look at studying and I always look for a post like yours before beginning to study for these exams.

I also want to second this approach for anyone new to the testing experience.  I've been able to pass most of my exams with only two book resources (+contracts or free online articles occasionally).  I'm convinced that more than 3 sources is likely too many resources and that gets expensive too.  Granted, I count the whole bundle of Ballast review manual, practice problems/exam as one resource.

    Good luck everyone!

Thanks for sharing, Audrey. It seems like the practice exams from black spectacles ask more about things like shoring, excavation, topping concrete, what type of screws to use etc. Would you say this is not worth studying before the test? I only just briefly went through the HH manual but it didn't seem like that information was included, nor was it part of Ching's chapter 3 or 7. Thanks for any info you can provide and congrats on passing!

    Ryan,
There was probably a single question about each of the things you mentioned. My first round on this exam included so much info that I knew a little about a lot of things on the exam vs. my passing attempt when I understood the important things really well. Ching couldn’t keep my attention, so I didn’t spend much time in there. I looked over it but found HH more stimulating and simplified which helped me apply the info better to situations on the exam.

    Good luck!
