I thought I would pass some of this info along after passing both PDD & PPD.
Building Construction Illustrated - with the exception of the chapter on HVAC was super helpful. I read this text at least three times over. Although this isn't one of the resources listed for PPD, I would definitely read it before taking the exam.
Building Codes Illustrated - I would read this close to when I would take the test
Heating Cooling & Lighting - was great for understanding the fundamentals
Plumbing Electricity Acoustics - also an excellent resource for understanding fundamentals
Black Spectacles - just the exams though, the content wasn't all that helpful
Architect Exam Prep - I would use as a filler. I have a long commute and would use this to gear myself up to study and keep myself in study mode but I can't say that it was entirely useful, but if you need something to reinforce what you're learning from other materials and need an audio guide to exercise or drive to this will do.
Hyperfine - This helped me more so for PPD than PDD
Most Helpful Award goes to The Amber Videos and Book - This was helpful in explaining in a tangible way concepts that I had a hard time grasping otherwise and kept me engaged through the book and interactive videos, I can't swear enough by this. It might seem expensive but it's worth it.
Time - I took PPD & PDD about a month apart from each other.
