    References are provided. memorizing doesn't help, just make yourself familiar with the content and know how to look for the information

    I think it depends on the table. Sometimes I felt like if I had memorized some tables like 602 or 1006.2.1 and 1006.3.1 I could have gotten the answer faster and saved more time for the case study questions that will inevitably take longer than you expect. 

    Go to the NCARB homepage and click on the demonstration exam and see how the test works for functionality. For the questions, excerpts will be provided to you but sometimes  you will not have enough information so it helps to be REALLY familiar with the entire IBC code or at least Chapters 3,4,5,6,7,9,10.
