Haha. Thanks Pete. I actually took PPD 1.5 weeks afterward. And passed. So I’m done. Completely done. It feels great. I’m applying for licensure in a couple states as well as the national certificate.

Good luck to you too. Make it inevitable!

Congrats Seth, what exam do you recommend taking after Construction Evaluation: PjM or PcM?

    Sanjay,

I just preliminary passed CE. I am taking PjM next. I hear lots of carry over info. Best of luck!

Sanjay & Pete. I feel like CE, PjM, & PcM are basically the same test. I pretty much studied the same things for them. I feel like the CSI Project Manual and the AIA Sample Contracts and the Schiff Harden Lectures are the 3 key resources - as other people have said. However, I would encourage downloading, printing, reading (multiple times), & highlighting the AIA Contracts. It’s A LOT of work but it will be really valuable to the ARE knowledge building as well as your professional practice afterward. I am now done with the tests and am licensed and it is valuable to have that information in the back of my head. Food luck!

I have been working on 2 of the key resources you mentioned, but what do you suggest for practicing or understanding the CSI Manuel portion?

Hi Sanjay. I bought the CSI Project Manual as part of getting my CSI CDT certification work. But I’ve kept it and re read it now again for general work and ARE tests. So maybe you should just do the same? It I don’t know your specific strengths and weaknesses so it’s hard for me to know exactly. Hope that’s helpful.

    Peter.
Simple: get the ncarb reference materials, talk to friends and colleagues, study, take tests. If you fail, identify your weaknesses, study, retake tests. Take the tests in the order ncarb has them unless you don’t want to.
How many tests have you taken?
How many tests have you failed?
I’d recommend getting other certifications as prep if you feel underprepared. Other certifications like: CPHC, CDT, LEED, BEMP, ILFI.
