I have basic knowledge about this:"vertical louvers are better at shading east/west openings and horizontal ones are better at south openings". I gathered this info from Sun, Wind and Light and Building Construction Illustrated. However I need more help on this. I've asked very detailed questions about different louver angles on my test. Basic "east/west receives vertical louver" was not enough to answer. Apparently I was supposed to know how various louver angles response to sun's movement during the day. Does anyone know a material, book in NCARB's reference list that explains how vertical louvers should be angled based on the time of the day? Or any other reference?
