Hydronic Piping System
Hello,
I have a question about 31 Integration of Building Systems #1. It says the series perimeter loop system can control radiators individually (please see below), which is opposite to what I studied. I thought the series perimeter loop system is part of the onepipe system. What is the difference between the series perimeter loop system and onepipe system?

A series perimeter loop is similar to a onepipe system with the exception that the series pipe actually goes through the convectors/radiators units and a onepipe goes by the convectors/radiators with branch pipe lines (supply and return) to each convector/radiator. So the onepipe would have better pressure I believe since it has the main onepipe continuous bypassing.
With the onepipe, you could have a shutoff on each convector/radiator unit for maintenance without shutting down the entire system.
Check out this description.

Thanks for posting this, it helps me understand better also.
