The AIA provides PDF copies of each contract on their website marked as "Sample" for your use. Unless you plan on using the contract for actual use on a project, there is no need to purchase them for studying purposes.

As Joel mentioned, you can find sample contracts to study so there's no need to buy them for the exams. I also highly suggest listening to the Schiff Hardin lectures for the contracts as well. They are a fantastic free resource and honestly that's what I used to study the contracts more than anything else, I just listened to those lectures 2-3 times over a few weeks during my commute. That alone made me feel very comfortable with the information in the contracts and applying them to given situations.

The AHPP can be purchased online, though sometimes local AIA chapters will have them that you can borrow. My firm had a copy in the office that I was able to use. If you can't borrow a copy, it's a valuable resource so buying it for your own use isn't a bad idea.

For studying the AHPP, I used the PDFs by Narmour Wright to help me focus on specific sections. It was very helpful and well put together. There are other, similar guides out there but I liked this one the best.

    Hope that helps, good luck!

I was able to purchase a digital copy of AHPP for significantly less than a physical copy. I agree with Scott on the Wright study guides. Its broken down by objective per exam as outlined in the ARE handbook and directs you through select readings of the handbook as apposed to reading it cover to cover. Also, take as many practice exams as possible.

    Good luck!

Another question regarding AHPP and the latest Contracts, should I just study the latest/most current Contracts? I heard the exam is now based on these (current contracts). I believe the AHPP's contracts are based on the 2007? I just read this somewhere. Please enlighten me with regards this. Appreciate all your help! Thank you guys!!!

Definitely study the most current version of the contracts. The 2018 Schiff Hardin lectures that I gave a link to cover the most recent version. I honestly didn't use the AHPP much for studying the contracts so I don't know that I would stress too much about that part of the book. I don't know what the differences are between the 2007 and 2017 contracts, so you may be able to use the AHPP for most of the articles in the contracts but I can't say for sure. But the exams will test you on the 2017 version, so be sure to study those.

I am from ARE 3.0, 4.0 thru 5.0 with 3 teenagers with credit for CE failed PcM once.

I am using PDFs of all different sections downloaded from PCM Practice Management 101 (Young Architect Academy). You have to buy online.

which shows the summary & lists of study materials & video per each sub-sections. I am also using Taytana's study material summary ( you will find link from Narman Garg link) to go over to know which I am not familiar with.

I am then going to review all the lists of study materials trying to skip areas I am familiar enough.

Good Luck & happy to know another designer studying together remotely. 😁😁😊
