    A few months ago (almost a year ago by now?) there was an issue with Prometric not letting people test because their name they signed up to take the test with didn't exactly match their photo ID (in particular, it was whether or not a middle name was included). It wasn't all Prometric centers but enough to cause a lot of unnecessary stress from test-takers and an email from NCARB about it. As a precaution, if I remember correctly, NCARB said the safest thing to do was to be sure our NCARB name matched our photo ID, so we could send them a copy of our license to make sure they matched. 

    I don't remember hearing anything about it recently, but I don't get all the emails these days since I finished my exams. Not sure if that helps, but people sending NCARB a copy of their ID isn't unprecedented. Did they give any more detail or explanation in the email?

    I’ve tested since all of those issues. And never had a problem

    It was just a thought. Not all Prometric Centers had issues - mine did not - but that was what came to my mind. 

    If you're worried, a call to NCARB might yield a faster answer. Maybe a moderator will chime in soon, but it is Friday afternoon so you never know how that might impact things.

    Thanks for your thought it has to be that but just seemed weird to email someone my Id directly.
