    I absolutely feel that you could study the 2018 and be just fine, no question.  I would say go ahead and do that, but have a copy of the actual 2015 IBC handy (which is free online) so you can at least familiarize yourself with the layout and organization of the 2015 version, since this is what will be on the test.  In particular, know the height and area tables of Chapter 5 in the 2015 IBC.  I doubt they changed that in 2018, but just in case.  Without question though, the concepts and code explanations that BCI gives in both 2015 and 2018 would be very, very close to the same (if not identical) and you should be fine.
