1. When doing an Allowable Area Increase for say an Occupancy B, Construction Type 2B, proposed 4 stories, sprinklered building. In ICC 2015 Chapter 5, Equation 5-2, for Sa, do I plug in 4 stories since it is a sprinklered building or do I still go by 3 stories? Is a fully sprinklered Use Group B building considered "buildings equipped throughout with an automatic sprinkler system installed in accordance with section 903.3.1.2"?
I ran it thru the Cornell University IBC 2006–2015 Allowable Area Calculator and it seems like they are calculating by 3.
2. Also, once I get my Increase Amount, to what digit do I round it? I got .5787, do I make it 58% or leave it at 57.87%?
3. Is my final number per building or per floor?
