It was my go to source to understand labor laws, insurance, business types, accounting, organization structure , and some other stuff I'm sure I'm forgetting. Dont forget the test writers use the referenced materials to write up questions so it wouldnt hurt to review if you have a copy.

Thank you for your response Osman. I don’t have a copy, and was trying to sidestep the expense but, it sounds like I need to just get it.

From the sections that I read for the PcM exam I wish I had purchased a copy just to keep on hand.  I think it is very informative.  You should check to see if you firm or local AIA has a copy you can borrow.

    Hi Shraddha,

Congrats on your passes!  Having already passed the ARE 5.0, I've always noted that the advice that I and others give on this forum applies to about 80% of all candidates -- the majority.  There is another 10% that seem to have trouble with numerous exam fails no matter what they do.  The final 10% could skip all advice given, read some Facebook posts and watch a few Ozark episodes, and pass with flying colors.

You're sort of in that last 10% -- you're passing exams without the AHPP, so who can argue with your approach?

To your question -- "AHPP  necessary?" -- heh, for you -- apparently not, given your success without it on two exams.

That said, the AHPP is -- as Osman noted -- extremely helpful for PcM in particular.  And, while the AHPP is a large purchase, I've found it to be a great ongoing reference for the workplace -- it's a roadmap through the profession.

Good luck on your PcM exam!

@Brian Blodnikar - Thank you for your response.  I am currently not an AIA member so, couldn't use their copy.  Someone shared their notes of the 14th edition and I used that to study.

@Kurt Fanderclai - Hahaha... No episodes of Ozark here but, I did pass PcM without the book.  As I mentioned to Brian I did use someone else's notes of the 14th edition to study.  It was mostly an outline but, good enough to understand intent.

I don't disagree that AHPP is probably a worthwhile investment but, that might be a purchase for down the road.  I just paid for all 6 exams and I am sure NCARB has eventual plans to bleed me of more of my hard-earned cash! :))

Now on to a few episodes of Ozark before studying for PA!

Idk if you already took the exam (been a while so I assume you have). The AHPP or some similar resource that generally covers everything are required, for sure. You pretty much have to hope that you get favorable questions, because this exam is so badly written. The other exams seem to be reordered questions from 4.0 but PCM wasn't previously in another section so they had to make questions and they are extremely bad, and specific to the people who wrote them.

I am in a different boat, and wish for some advise.  I am schedule end of July 2020 to take my first exam in 8-years, which is CE.  I feel 90% confident with exception to formulas & the ratio matrix.

Question: I am 2-weeks out from taking this exam, and don't believe I have more information to keep my momentum; and have heard great review about Ballast and his new reading/quizzes.  Would you recommend me purchasing this last bundle of tricks, as I already have everything else?  Thank you to and for anyone who helps by chiming in with some advise!

I passed CE first try and it was my first exam. I didn't use AHPP for it at all. I found the architect exam prep for CE to be the most helpful section of that product and would definitely recommend it. It's a lot of hours of podcasts and flashcards, so start right away if you want to use it. Other than that I relied on experience for this section. It was probably the easiest section if you do general CA in real life, but there are some curve balls that the architect exam prep podcast helped me with.

Hi Shraddha. Curious what resources you used to pass the PjM exam since I am scheduled to take mine in about 3 weeks. I have been studying from Ballast and using Black Spectacles as a practice exam resource.

@Shruti - I took that exam nearly 2 years ago. I don’t recall exactly but I don’t remember using AHPP much. I do recall using work experience, Black Spectacles lectures and practice exams, Schiff Hardin lectures, and possibly Ballast practice exams. Good luck!

Thanks for the response. I didn't use AHPP for CE or PcM and still passed in the first try, but since so many people have been recommending AHPP I was curious on what your approach was.

When using the Wiley guide for the AHPP, does the "All" under content suggest you read the entire chapter or all of the listed page?
