PDD Details
Hey all. Taking my final exam next week had a question for those who have taken PDD. Do the details on the exam favor a building typology or construction? I've been absorbing all I can from AGS and BCI, but Id ideally like to hone in on certain materials/assemblies if possible in the final days.
I just downloaded a 300 page Simpson-Tie brochure to brush up on wood connector details, and Im looking for any reason to not go down that path 3 days before my exam
Thanks!

The details tend to steer towards commercial-type construction, as opposed to residential. I Instead, I suggest focusing on BCI wall assemblies - identifying parts and pieces, flashing, building techniques etc. Keep in mind that you will be asked questions in a way that will bring in other 'subject areas'. For example, which side of the wall should the vapor barrier be located? So, understanding the climate, humidity issues, daylighting, appropriate construction, waterproofing, foundation issues etc...any combination of these issues will come into play in a given detail question, whether it is labeling the parts or the aforementioned location-type question.
Make sure you have a good grasp of CONCEPTS. I don't think you need to study a Simpson-Tie brochure, that is way off target IMO.
