I'm preparing for my last exam, PPD, and hope to get some clarity for the following code issues (IBC 2012) concerning egress.
Question #1: Space with One Exit (refer to image below):
In a space or room with Mixed occupancies, what is the max. 1) occupant load and, 2) common path of egress travel, that allow One exit access doorway? Tables 1015.1 and 1014.3 only define the max. for Single occupancy.
I'm guessing common path needs to comply with the max. defined for Each occupancy?
Question #2: Story with One Exit (refer to image below):
In a story with Mixed occupancies, Sec 1021.2.1 defines the max. occupant load that allows One exit as "sum of ratios"...this is pretty clear. But what is the max. travel distance for "One exit"? Table 1021.2(2) only defines the max. for Single occupancy.
I'm guessing travel distance for "One exit" needs to comply with the max. defined for Each occupancy?
Question #3: Story with One Exit in a Condo
If a condo complies with Table 1021.2(1), and therefore only has one exit stairway in each story. Does that mean an individual dwelling unit on the 2nd floor of this condo is required to have two exit access doorways as per Sec 1021.2.3 #2?
Question #4: Remoteness of exit stairways in Highrise
Is this requirement as per Sec 403.5.1 an addition to OR in lieu of Exit Separation requirement as per Sec 1015.2.1?
