    Hi Jeffrey,

I am sorry to hear that. Personally, I have benefitted from using the Ballast Practice Tests and Practice Exam books and Designer Hacks quizzes. I found them to be quite difficult which was good bc I didn't find the actual test to be as challenging then.

Hope this helps and good luck!

    Hi Jeffrey,

I honestly didn't have a lot of experience in Practice Management, and you probably won't get the adequate experience to pass the test until much later in your architectural career. The study materials should be sufficient enough. You should definitely reread every contract that the ARE handbook suggests until it is like second nature to you.

I retook the Project Management Exam and did not pass for the second time. I would recommend signing up for Black Spectacles because their practice exam's interface looks identical to the actual exam. Granted there are a few spelling errors, but the exam structure help prepared me for the exam so i wouldn't feel fatigued/overwhelmed by the language as previous times.

I agree with Neha about taking Designer Hacks quizzes and Ballast Practice Tests. On that note, I wouldn't schedule any exam until I consistently get above 90% passing grades on all practice exams/quizzes. I took PjM again when i had an 85% passing rate from the Black Spectacles practice exam.

Thank you two very much. I just want to confirm are you both referring to the 5.0 Ballast tests?

I too, took PcM yesterday, for the second time, and to my dismay, received three 2's, and one 3, which I think is absolute bull, given that it's at least a PASS percentage-wise. I was furious this morning, but have learned that I cant give up - though it is turning more into a money thing with NCARB, than anything.

Just to add - I studied the Ballast 5.0 material, AHPP (required chapters), BlackSpectacles, Ballast Practice Exams, DesignHacks Practice Exams, and finally, a bit of ArchExamPrep review - for a total of 2 months.

Seems like overkill, but wanted to finally ace this one, and landed on the brink of almost there. It will take a few days to cool down, but know its possible to pass.

Thanks for the motivation. I don't know much about ARE 4.0 but do you think 5.0 is difficult to pass because of the lack of study material and/or because it is so new? If so, I'm wondering whether I should constantly keep trying or wait a while and meanwhile get more AXP.
