Architectural Graphic Standards for Residential Construction
Hi All -
I work for a residential firm and hence we only have AGS for Residential Construction in our office. At my old office (4-5 years ago) we had a copy of the full AGS and I remember it being similar, albeit more broad, than the Residential version.
So, I wanted to ask if people who have taken and/or passed PDD (I've failed it once before - and just passed PPD) would recommend investing in the full AGS as a resource. (I know NCARB lists both as source material, but I want to hear from anyone who has experience possibly using both?)
Do you all think it's worth it? And if so, why?
I know it will be a good resource to have in the future but if I can, I'd prefer to wait on purchasing it until I need so that I get the most current version
Thanks in advance,
Adam

Adam,
I bought AGS as a PPD/PDD/Professional resource. It's a great book, but if you already have the residential version I think you'll be ok and can save your money. In my opinion, the only books you need would be Ching Building Construction Illustrated and the Architect's Studio Companion.
Congrats on the PPD pass!
