    Evan,

Just my personal experience: didn't have any questions regarding this and I personally don't feel it's worth reviewing.  I didn't study it at all, had no issues.  Up to you - I get that the Handbook identifies it.  Look at others' post about structural calculations on this exam, and what you TRULY need to study.  Overstudying structural formulas will not be worth your time.

If others out there actually had questions regarding this, please respond too and maybe you can offer different insight.

If you take the practice test (from your NCARB profile) you can view the provided references.  Not only do you not need to find them in the book, you get to see them exactly as you can access them in the test.

    hi evan,

i have the eight and the sixth edition. you can pick these up for a couple of bucks. it would be good to have in your library irrespective of test questions. i also have an old set of "thumbnail" paste up 5 x 7 cards for these topics that i am going to review. these are from "simplified engineering for architects and builders" (sixth edition) i think or maybe from AISC..

i could probably scan these and post them if you shoot me an email. I pretty much summarized what seemed important but i need to organized them a little. also, chapters 1 - 3 in this book (just took a look) are an easy and productive read.

i'd have to assume that between screen printing the practice exam references for this, printing the exam guide information on this and having an old copy of AISC that you would cover all your bases.

but i'm curious about this question as well.

    - jon

just a note here. "Structures" by schodek is a reference in PDD AFAIK. they list the most recent edition by wiley i am sure.

you could pick up a second edition for a couple of bucks and this also would likely be good for a quick read on some of this info.

    just my two cents.
