I know this was discussed in another post, where someone said they left extra time before taking CE. My take is a little different: since there is so much content about contracts in CE, and you're already studying contracts for PJM, it makes sense to take CE very shortly after PJM. I studied the actual contracts carefully - they're available on the NCARB website when you log in to your account. I also listened to the Schiff Hardin lectures, and read the AHPP chapters on contracts while making hand-written notes on them.
I took 5 days (without working) in between PJM and CE, and did manage to pass CE. However, if I had failed PJM, I would have gone home from the PJM test and immediately tried to postpone my CE exam! (Depending on where you take the test - I think - you can re-book a certain number of days in advance without paying a penalty.)
