    Hi Franklin,

Sorry to hear about your PPD fail :( Sounds like you're not too far off though! I'm not sure what you studied before, but at a glance these are my thoughts:

Section 1: Site Planning and Design Handbook (haven't studied this yet but I would think it'd cover objective 1.1 and potentially 1.3) and Architects Studio Companion (good for objective 1.2)

Section 4: Architects Studio Companion is probably the best book for this section, but I think Building Construction Illustrated could also be beneficial. I think BCI lends itself more towards PDD in general, but with the overlap between the two exams I think it's worth studying.

Section 5: I'm not really sure what would be good to study for this section. It may be beneficial just to practice these types of problems, I feel like most of them are more about doing some math and comparing cost that way, but I'm not sure. I think if you're studying the books above for the other sections, it'll help you out for this section as well.

I passed PPD a little over a week ago, and realize now that the only resources I studied that are under this specific section were Architectural Graphic Standards and Building Codes Illustrated. As such, I can't speak to the relevance of the other 3 for the sections you're asking about (but I feel like they focus more on sections 2 and 3).

    Good luck!

Thank you Scott, I will purchase the Site planning and design Handbook, I did study the ASC and BCI(Ching), which did help a lot... but yes section 5 is kind out there in the air, I guess I just need to go over a bit more for these type of problems presented in this exam. I did not go over the architectural graphic standards, which sections do you recommend to focus on in that book. Once again thank you.

Franklin, AGS is pretty big, so my approach was to look through the chapters that were relevant to the exam and first look at the details and graphics and read the intro to each chapter. If I understood the details I wouldn't spend more time on it, but if I wasn't sure I would read the accompanying paragraphs. I think this book probably deals more with sections 2 and 3 so I don't know if you need to put a lot of time into that since it sounds like you passed those two, but it's a great book to have as a reference (and very helpful for PDD, if you still have to take that one).

Franklin, I saw many posts in regards to a study guide for the majority of the resources.  MEEB being the beast that it is will also explain a lot of the different questions/ concerns in both PPD and PDD that I have seen.  I myself am on the last (2) exams and am always looking for someone else's perspective to get through the tasks at hand.  Best of luck. Kelly.
