NCARB's Policy Regarding Candidate ID at the Prometric Test Center
All --
In response to recent posts on the candidate ID issue -- NCARB's policy has not changed. NCARB sent a policy clarification to all Prometric test centers last week. Those test centers who had not been following the policy misunderstood and believed the policy to have been revised.
We have since revisited the middle name issue and the policy stands as such:
"You will not be admitted to the examination without proper identification, and there will be no refund of your test fee. The primary form of identification must bear your signature and a recent photograph. The first and last name on the identification must be the same as the first and last name that appears in your NCARB Record. If you need to change the name shown in your NCARB Record, you must send a request and official documentation to NCARB Customer Relations. Name discrepancies must be resolved at least one week prior to your scheduled exam appointment."
The ARE 5.0 Guidelines will be revised to reflect the language on first and last name. NCARB has reached out to the most recently affected candidates. Please contact NCARB Customer Service if you have questions or specific concerns. 202-879-0520 or customerservice@ncarb.org.
