I humbly ask that we change the tenor of the conversation in this forum from
"Pass" vs "Fail"
to
"Pass or score at least 510" vs "Fail with a score of 499 and below"
From an OUTCOME point-of-view, a 525 scaled score fail sucks because you have to retake the exam. But from a DECISION TO TAKE THE TEST point-of-view, you missed by one question, you made the right call to schedule the exam when you did, you don't need to change up your study regime, and you'll likely pass next time.
If you scored at least a 510, give yourself an hour or two to mope, then overcome your disappointment and decide to be okay with that result, and above all, reschedule your retake for a as soon as possible before you forget the type of elevator that 's not hydraulic. You will absolutely forget "traction elevator" if you don't schedule your retake for as soon as possible and then you'll have to spend so much more time studying.
If you scored a 499 or below, you are right to question your study regime and you can wallow for 1.5 days. But even then, don't mope for too long. The dirty secret not talked about in this community: when you eventually earn your license, you will feel as euphoric as you think you will. . . but, like with everything else great that's happened to you in your life, the euphoria will fade much more quickly than you suspect it will. Three days after securing your license, you'll lose your keys and curse your bad luck in life as you return to your baseline level of contentedness. If you will only be elated for 48 hours FROM PASSING ALL EXAMS, you are not allowed to be devastated FOR FAILING ONE EXAM for more than 36 hours.
What if you score above a 499 and below a 510? Keep your study regime but maybe allow yourself to feel bad :)
