Porcelain Tile - Porous or non porous
Hi,
The below question on the practice PPD exam asks about options for changing flooring materials. It requires that the change be a "non-porous surface". One of the options is "Porcelain Tile".
Although porcelain itself is non-porous, grouting between tiles is porous, which is why I did not pick this option, which happens to be the correct answer.
Can anyone chime in and tell me if I'm right or wrong on my reasoning?
Thanks!

The question doesn't mention the system in totality needs to be non-porous, just the flooring surface material. The tile, even with grout, is not as porous as the currently installed carpet flooring. The goal of the question isn't to pick the most appropriate non-porous flooring material, it's to find the most cost-effective material over 25 years.
Utilize the information presented without overthinking what's being asked, good luck!
