Need Direction regarding Amber course... PPD scheduled 6 weeks away
Hey everyone,
I’ve got two exams left: PPD and PDD. I passed PA in November and started studying for PPD in January, kept it up through March, then had to take a break for personal stuff. Now I’ve got my PPD exam scheduled for six weeks from now and I’m trying to get back into a solid study routine—but feeling a little unsure about where to focus.
I’ve gone through the Amber Book course, except for the PDD flashcards. They’ll take me a few weeks to get through, and I’m wondering if it’s worth the time right now, or if I should stick to reviewing stuff that’s more PPD-focused.
I’ve also been using the WeARE quizzes, and they’ve reminded me of some concepts from the Amber videos (systems, site, etc.) that I watched earlier this year but have mostly forgotten—so I’m thinking about rewatching those too.
TL;DR: For anyone who’s taken PPD, would you recommend doing the PDD flashcards as part of studying? Or would I be better off reviewing the Amber videos and focusing more directly on PPD material? Trying to be smart about how I spend my time these next few weeks - thinking about how Michael often talks about the time put into studying something vs the payoff on the exams.
Thanks so much in advance!

I also started studying for PPD and PDD in January and just passed both! I would say that the flashcards were helpful for each but not as much as running through practice questions. I did not review PDD Amber Book flashcards until after taking the PPD exam. There is some amount of overlap but maybe not as much as you would expect. I would recommend getting the PPD and PDD bundle from AREQuestions.com for some really well written practice exams to prepare for each exam. WEARE was also good, but I found Elif's questions to be more in line with the NCARB test questions. Also going back and review the Amber Book areas you feel like you may not have a full grasp on after taking a break
