Wind loads and pressure on the exam?
I just took the PPD exam today and got a likely fail. I am very upset and confused because I had so many questions about wind loads and wind pressure. A lot of diagrams, I was not prepared for any of these questions because they weren't asking about structure or MEP for these questions. The study materials I have been using are the Ballast Book, Black Spectacles, and making sure I am going over the NCARB diagrams. I took the NCARB practice exam and passed with a 70%. I am just wondering if anyone else struggled with this, and what I should do to prepare for the next time I take the exam.

Hi bbeatty2,
I'm so sorry to hear about your exam result. I also struggled with PPD during my ARE journey, so I understand what you are going through. There is so much content to cover and it can be overwhelming to determine what/where to prioritize your studies.
Building Construction Illustrated (2.09) has some great diagrams that helped me understand wind loads better.
I also encourage you to take a look at your score report to determine which areas you performed well in and which could use some improvement. Focus on those weaker areas by doing a deeper dive in study materials for those topics, while continuing to do passive studying of your stronger areas (in order to keep those consistent).
Please don't hesitate to reach out to me directly kiaragalicinao@blackspectacles.com if there is anything else we can do to help support you on this journey.
Keep your head up! You got this!
