Coordinating Bid Packages for Insulation and Finishing Work in Renovation Projects
In a renovation project where insulation is being added to stud cavities, drywall installation (gypsum board) and interior painting are naturally tied to completing the insulation work. Once the insulation is installed, the next logical steps are to enclose the wall with drywall and finish the surface with paint. So, it seems the most logical answer would be to release the bid packages for gypsum board and interior painting, right?
As for electrical conduit and boxes, they’re usually installed before the insulation to allow for wiring adjustments. Since they’re not part of the finishing process, this work would have already been coordinated ahead of the insulation phase.

The issue with the situation at hand is that it's discovered that insulation is not within the existing wall assemblies, therefore it has to be made up with the new furring walls that were not to be insulated initially. The electrical conduit and boxes is the correct option because you want the systems that will be enclosed within the walls installed before the insulation, and the interior assembly and coordination of the wall cavities will be the focus of the combined released bid packages.
The studs will be assembled, and conduit, plumbing, wood blocking, etc. that is located within walls will be routed/installed before being insulated to, like the answer suggests, avoid having to cut the insulation to install those items later on. Due to the shift in insulation requirements for the project, this will be phased in alongside the utility routing and related cavity work. Finishes will follow the insulation of the walls, not coincide or in conjunction like the third answer suggests.
