The Latrobe Prize: Addressing a Multibillion-Dollar Challenge: Live Presentation
Thursday's 09/12 free 6pm ET Zoom study session is titled, “The Latrobe Prize: Addressing a Multibillion-Dollar Challenge.”
In 2019, the AIA College of Fellows awarded a team of architects from Perkins Eastman the prestigious $100,000 Latrobe Prize to further their study of a multibillion-dollar challenge: understanding how architecture affects education.
Working with two large, urban school districts, the research team spent years assessing indoor environmental quality, educational adequacy, and community connectivity in modernized and non-modernized schools.
In this week’s live presentation, the team from Perkins Eastman will present their research findings and you’ll discover how they came to the conclusion that “high-quality school environments can boost educational outcomes, improve well-being, and strengthen communities.”
Session hosts:
Emily Chmielewski, EDAC, Design Research Director and Senior Associate, Perkins Eastman
Heather Jauregui, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, O+M, CPHC, Director of Sustainability and Associate Principal, Perkins Eastman
Karen Gioconda, NCIDQ, LEED AP ID+C, Associate Principal, Perkins Eastman
