I had a similar situation. NCARB refunded my money but didn’t allow me to retake the exam. It was my third attempt, and I had to wait another year. I still haven’t taken the PA again.

I just faced the same issue, I took my PcM where a technical issue stopped me from moving forward. the proctor looked at issue and transferred me to a new computer, when i logged into the new computer i noticed the time had been running and I had lost approximately 6miutes. probably more or less. This affected my entire exam strategy. I contacted NCARB regarding the issue, but the refund is really my goal here. I would like to take the exam again without penalty.

This has now happed for my the past four exams I have taken. It happed to me during Project Management, Practice Management, Construction and Evaluation, and Project Planning & Design....just recently on 12/26/24. It happens for different exams and at different PSI testing locations. I have notified NCARB two of the times that this has occurred, and not much has been done. I am taking Practice Management again (the only exam I keep failing) this Saturday and I know for a fact it is going to happen again. It is very nerve racking because I know its going to happen when I click on the next question...I just don't know when.

vrocks718 It is sad and unfortunate to hear that we are penalized because of their technical difficulties. I am 100% sure that the server shut down and the delay to bring it back up was one of the major causes I failed my PcM. I came short 3 questions. and all they did was giving me a seat back which I didn't really want. I wanted to not be penalized and wait 60 days to retake. It is not fair. Not sure why they don't want us to Pass our exams fairly.

It is very unfortunate and I agree.  I was very close to passing...my scaled score was just short of 550 (the passing threshold). Maybe if my focus wasn't interrupted and I didn't lose time, I would've passed. It is very discouraging.
