PPD Practice Exam - Area Drain vs Perforated Piping
Hi all, looking on some further explanation on why perforated piping is the correct choice opposed to an area drain? Is it because a perforated pipe would collect more water over a larger area?

The area drain is usually connected to a stormwater pipe, this will require some excavation and possible regrading to direct water to the drain; however, the subsurface perforated piping is not necessarily going to the stormwater system and instead it is just preventing ponding by forcing a quicker flow into the subsoil.
