PDD as 1st exam and failed by not much. What to do next?
Hi,
I took PDD as my first exam because I wanted to get the beast out of the way first, and I am more knowledgeable about technical aspects because of my work experience. I used Amberbook as my primary source for studying the entire thing, so I felt prepared for the PDD. However, I only studied the Project Manual and Specification (from Ballast and Brightwood) briefly, and this is where I fell short and I missed the passing mark by a few items.
I intend to take PA next month, followed by PPD. I'm currently doing practice tests and reading other supplement materials, and I've been doing well on PA practice tests/quizzes because I'm pretty strong at programming and site analysis. But, since I failed PDD, should I still take PA? Should I do what everyone else does and start with PCM, PJM, CE, etc.?
Please let me know your thoughts. Thank you.

Apple, I completely understand where you're coming from as I faced similar challenges when I began my exams. Like you, I also relied heavily on AB as my primary study resource. During my preparation, I took detailed notes and created customized flashcards to cover all bases, anticipating possible retakes. Practicing with flashcards and taking practice exams is crucial as they significantly enhance your ability to recall what you've learned.
It's often beneficial to group your exams. I started with PcM, PjM, and CE, then moved on to PA, PPD, and PDD. My strategy was to tackle the exams I perceived as easier first to build confidence. Since you've already attempted PDD, I recommend re-registering for it soon to keep the material fresh in your mind. While many advise against starting with PA, you could consider bundling PDD, PPD, and PA, aiming to complete them close together.
I hope this advice helps, and I'm here if you have more questions. Wishing you the best on your journey!
