2nd Fail in PA this is not a difficult exam
I studied for an extra 3 years for this exam, I mastered all the techniques, and I studied everything from Amber book, Black spectacles, PPI, everything. This exam was impossible to finish, it's not about studying, it merely needs at least an extra hour to finish, I don't understand how NCARB is supposed to create such an exam, that each question is about a page long of text, or when these diagrams need a lot of time to organize. I would suggest a speed reading course before you go into this one. really how fast can you read a 75-page book that 1/3 of the book needs math, and the other 1/3 needs drawing, just let me know. I faced this twice so far, It's all about time. I really would appreciate NCARB's input on this, I don't think the timing for this exam is set right. I think these exams should test your knowledge, not your speed.

I haven't taken it yet, but I definitely struggle with timing while doing practice exams. I need to get the discrete items down to around 2 mins each, and I'm often closer to 3 mins - that tracks with your extra hour estimate. In addition to the NCARB practice exam, I have found Elif's AREQuestions quizzes very helpful for getting reps with hard questions to help me speed up. The time crunch is definitely not ideal, and practice questions are only really helpful for gauging speed the first time you see them. Good luck for when you retake it, I hope the question set breaks your way!
